ABIAs 2020 Virtual Awards Event

The Australian book Industry Awards (ABIA) celebrate the achievements of authors and publishers in bringing Australian books to readers.

Winners for the Australian Book Industry Awards are determined through a process of selection, first by the ABIA Academy of more than 200 industry professionals, and then a Shortlist and winners are chosen by our Judging Panels.

The 2020 event was due to take place in late March, and after COVID-19 hit, swiftly became one of the very first Virtual Awards Events.

Featuring a plethora of Australia’s most celebrated authors including Kitty Flanagan, Judy Nunn, Julia Gillard, Anita Heiss, Michael O'Loughlin, Andrew Daddo, Richard Harris, Casey Bennetto and many more, along with a very special live performance from Clare Bowditch.

The Awards have been viewed by more than 40,000 people, and still climbing.
